Who are We?
We are a team of like-minded individuals passionate about everything related to water and its exhilarating experiences.
Founder
Kib Amos, the founder, grew up near the beaches of Mombasa, Kenya, where he spent most of his childhood riding waves, exploring tide pools, and swimming for hours. By age 12, he had already completed his swimming classes and always outshined his peers during local competitions.
Amos worked summers as a junior lifeguard and pool service technician as a teenager. He loved sharing his passion for the water with others. On weekends, he was always looking for new snorkeling or boating spots.
After college, he backpacked through Australia, South Africa, Southern California, and Indonesia, where he discovered and learned more water activities and sports, including paddleboarding (SUP), Kayaking, and surfing. He also picked up tips and tricks from local watermen during his travels.
Around 2018, Amos launched AquaticGlee, and he is excited to share his wealth of knowledge as a water sports writer, editor, and reviewer. He also handles the design and SEO tasks.
When he’s not in the water or writing about it, Amos enjoys surf photography, designing, reading, calisthenics, martial arts, and spending time outdoors with his Rottweiler Tyson.
Lucy Hart: Contributing Author
Beneath the waves is where Lucy feels most at home. This Cozumel-based dive instructor has dedicated her life to exploring the beauty of the underwater world and sharing it with others.
Lucy first got hooked on scuba diving during a family trip to the Great Barrier Reef in her teens. She was enthralled by the kaleidoscope of color and life that lay just below the ocean’s surface. Lucy knew she had found her calling when she surfaced from that introductory dive.
She became an open-water diver at 18 and logged hundreds of recreational dives over the next few years while working in a dive shop and pursuing her divemaster certification. Lucy’s passion for scuba grew stronger with every minute spent under the sea.
2012 Lucy moved from her native United Kingdom to Cozumel to become a full-time dive instructor. Drawn by spectacular drift diving along coral reefs and walls swarming with marine life, Cozumel was the perfect place for Lucy’s scuba dreams to come true.
Now certified by PADI to teach at all levels, Lucy loves sharing her joy and knowledge of the undersea world with new divers. She has a knack for making even the most nervous student feel comfortable and confident in the water. Join Lucy for an underwater adventure you’ll never forget!
Brian M: Author
Meet Brian, a water wizard with an unrivaled passion for swimming, swim gear, and pool maintenance.
After being a junior lifeguard, swim instructor, and competitive swimmer throughout high school and college, he takes great pride in adequately balancing pools. Hence, they’re safe, clean, and ready for swimming anytime.
Brian also spends countless hours guiding swim fans of all ages to achieve better lap times and perfect stroke techniques. Whether you want to learn the butterfly stroke or train for a triathlon, he has the tips to help you maximize your time in the water.

Jenna Sparks fell in love with stand-up paddleboarding during a family vacation to Hawaii when she was 13. Since that fateful first ride on a SUP, Jenna has dedicated herself to mastering the sport.
Throughout high school, she spent weekends and summers honing her paddleboarding abilities on Lake Itasca near her home in Minnesota. She became a certified paddleboard instructor and taught newcomers the basics during her college years.
After graduating with a degree in recreation management, Jenna spent two years living in Australia. She joined the SUP community, entering races and learning advanced ocean paddling skills there. Whether riding waves or cruising calm harbor waters, Jenna feels most at home standing on a board.
Jenna began submitting articles about her paddleboarding adventures to magazines and websites. Her writing combines her expertise with tips to help others maximize their time on the water. As an accomplished paddler, lifelong learner, and passionate teacher, Jenna loves introducing people to her favorite sport.
